Bacton terminal operations are authorised under the Pollution Prevention
and Control Regulations 2000.
Bacton emissions were within the IPPC targets in respect of natural
gas, oxides of nitrogen, carbon monoxide and sulphur dioxide. CO2 emissions
were within the EU Emissions Trading Scheme allocation.
Zeebrugge emissions remained low (targets are not set in Belgium at
present).
All waste disposals at Bacton and Zeebrugge were carried out by approved
and certified waste contractors in accordance with legislation.
One noise complaint was made to the Bacton Terminals Complex in 2007,
this was addressed to another company and was not attributable to IUK.
A complaint was received at the Zeebrugge terminal due to unplanned
venting and was resolved locally.
