The
Interconnector comprises a 235 kilometre sub-sea pipeline and terminals
at IBT in the UK and IZT in Belgium.
The Operations group has overall responsibility for managing the operation
and maintenance of the IBT and IZT terminals and pipeline.
The
Interconnector System

The
IBT terminal uses gas turbine driven compressors to flow gas from
UK to the continent (forward flow) and heaters to warm gas received
from IZT (reverse flow).
IBT
Terminal

The IZT terminal was originally designed to receive forward flow
gas for delivery to the Fluxys Transmission System in Belgium. Electrically
driven compressors have been installed to provide full reverse flow
capability.
IZT
Terminal
The 235 km, 40" diameter carbon steel pipeline links the IBT
and IZT terminals.
