The
Interconnector comprises a 235 kilometre sub-sea pipeline and terminals
at Bacton in the UK and Zeebrugge in Belgium.
The
Interconnector System

The
Bacton terminal uses gas turbine driven compressors to flow gas from
UK to the continent (forward flow) and heaters to warm gas received
from Zeebrugge (reverse flow).
Bacton
Terminal

The Zeebrugge terminal was originally designed to receive forward flow
gas for delivery to the Fluxys Transmission System in Belgium. Electrically
driven compressors have recently been installed to provide an increased
reverse flow capability.
Zeebrugge
Terminal
The 235 km, 40" diameter carbon steel pipeline links the Bacton
and Zeebrugge terminals.
Offshore
Pipeline

The
Operations group has overall responsibility for managing the operation
and maintenance of the Bacton and Zeebrugge terminals and the pipeline.
