Job Vacancy: Commercial Manager, Interconnector (UK) Limited

Full time, permanent employment.

Location: Central London (High Holborn) with European Travel (10-20% of time)

 

Interconnector (UK) Limited is looking to recruit a Commercial Manager, responsible for the commercial relationship with the customers in order to generate the company’s revenue stream.  

The role holder will call on their extensive commercial sales and networking experience, preferably from a gas trading environment, to initiate and develop relationships with the aim of increasing the customer base across different market segments in order to achieve capacity sales. The Commercial Manager will report to the Chief Commercial Officer and provide line management for one or more Commercial Analysts.

The role is externally facing and the Commercial Manager must be confident and experienced in presenting a company offering to a wide range of stakeholders including customers, regulators and industry partners. The Commercial Manager is expected to promote a positive and compelling external image for the company which will ultimately lead to capacity bookings in the gas pipeline and commercial success for the company.

To succeed in the role, an in depth understanding of the gas market, its customer base and competitive behaviour, the operational procedures and the legal/regulatory arrangements is essential. The Commercial Manager will be expected to identify and exploit value creation opportunities for Interconnector, e.g. by initiating the development of new products or by challenging and improving the external regulatory/ legal boundaries. In order to achieve this, the Commercial Manager will be working together with marketing, regulatory and legal professionals within IUK. The candidate is expected to have proven leadership qualities which enable them to foster and maintain great working relationships and to develop people and teams.

INTERCONNECTOR (UK) LIMITED - BACKGROUND

Interconnector (UK) Limited is a joint venture company that was set up to construct and operate the strategic bi-directional gas pipeline and terminal facilities linking the UK and continental European energy markets. Our transportation service is a key factor in the liberalisation of energy markets across Europe.  The system is capable of transporting around 810 GWh/d from Zeebrugge to Bacton and 630 GWh/d in the opposite direction.
