Interconnector (UK) Limited operates the bi-directional natural gas pipeline and terminals linking the UK and continental European gas markets. The Interconnector offers a unique commercial service and is able to import and export large volumes of gas providing flexibility to customers. We are now recruiting for the following roles:

Mechanical Technician (Full time Monday to Friday)

Working within a multi-disciplined Maintenance team, you will safely maintain mechanical equipment and systems and prepare plant and equipment for maintenance activities in line with company procedures which you will review as required.  Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Technician you will undertake or participate in safe, compliant, Maintenance activities, ensuring that HSSE expectations are met. You’ll also liaise with third party vendors and service providers and be responsible for supervising site visits. In order to succeed in this role you will be educated at NVQ Level 3 in a Mechanical discipline and/or have completed an Accredited Apprenticeship Program and will preferably have had experience in a similar role in the Oil, Gas or a similar industry. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be computer literate with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word, since you will need to develop procedures and practices as part of the role. You will participate in Risk Assessments and reviews and therefore an understanding of the Risk Assessment Processes is required.

Control Room Operator/ Production Technician (rotational shift work)

Working within an Operations Team you will prepare plant and equipment for maintenance activities as defined in our procedures which you will be capable of reviewing. You’ll also have responsibility for conducting the role of Performing and Isolating Authority within the Permit To Work System. This position requires flexibility to operate field equipment and the Control Room on a rotational shift pattern to maintain a safe, 24 hours/ 365-day operation. You will be preferably HNC qualified in a relevant discipline or have completed an Accredited Apprenticeship Program and have several years’ experience in a similar role in the Oil, Gas or similar industry with transferable skills. A knowledge of Safety Management Systems is required and you must have a proven track record of working well within a multi-disciplined team

Commercial Analyst – Commercial Team. Full time. Central London.

As Commercial Analyst you will report into our Commercial Manager and be responsible for informing, training and advising our customers of the company’s commercial offering. You'll be assisting in the negotiation and the day-to-day management of the commercial contracts. To succeed in the role you'll need to take a pro-active role in the origination of new customers and in understanding their commercial requirements. You will collaborate with colleagues to assess, develop and implement service improvements or developments within the European and UK regulatory environment. The role involves liaison with customers and connected transporters, as well as representing and promoting IUK within the industry. Therefore you should be comfortable with presenting to a variety of internal and external stakeholders and have the confidence and skills required to establish and maintain relationships with our customers.

Ideally you'll be degree educated (analytically related subject preferred) and be looking to take the next step having had some initial commercial and/or operational experience within the energy industry (gas industry preferred). Candidates must have the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both within and outside of an organisation and have excellent report writing and verbal presentational skills alongside a high level of numeracy.  Furthermore, candidates must be familiar with use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and able to prioritise work in order to meet deadlines.
